Transitioning to Entrepreneurship
Before franchise ownership, Shannan and Brad both had careers in the healthcare industry. Shannan graduated from Taylor University, and Brad graduated from Ohio State, both finding their way into different aspects of the industry. The couple relocated to Dallas in 1995, diving deep into the employee benefits sector of the healthcare industry and accumulating a decade of invaluable experience.
Shannan’s first experience with franchising was in 2005 when she managed a location for a meal prep restaurant brand for five years. Eventually, Shannan and Brad decided to jump into business ownership together, purchasing and owning a management and administrative consultancy services business called The Reaves Agency in 2013. They ran it for four years before selling it in 2018. These experiences in the realm of business ownership led them to decide to leave the healthcare industry and explore opportunities in franchising. “We were in the health insurance business for a long time, but we felt it was time for a change,” Brad states. “We also have three sons, so we wanted the opportunity to create a family business, grow it, and then pass it on to our children.”
Discovering the Spark with Blingle
Through their exploration, Shannan and Brad were introduced to Blingle! through a franchise broker.
