Michael McAllister’s love for franchising began with inspiration from a close friend who found success in the industry. Seeing firsthand the power of franchising, he became fascinated by how it wasn’t just about business—it was about building relationships. “Franchising is different than the rest of the business world,” Michael says. “It’s about connections. You have to love people, support them, and help them grow their business.”

Michael’s background in franchising started with owning a personal training gym in 2005, which he grew successfully. That experience led him to work in various leadership roles, supporting franchisees and building operational systems for several brands. His passion for seeing franchisees succeed has only deepened over the years, as he finds joy in watching entrepreneurs light up when they understand how to run a profitable business.

A Strong Foundation in Operations and Support

Michael’s leadership approach is deeply rooted in his operational expertise. With a career that spans from owning franchises to supporting corporate locations and managing hundreds of franchises across North America, Michael’s experience equips him with the tools to help franchisees thrive. “I’ve always loved teaching franchisees how to run a business,” Michael says. “Sales, marketing, customer experience—it’s all critical. You can hustle, but you must understand operations to build something sustainable.” When asked about his responsibilities at HorsePower Brands, Michael emphasizes that his primary role is to lead, develop, and support franchisees. “My goal is to help these franchises be profitable,” Michael states. “It’s all about teaching them how to run their businesses—from marketing and operations to hiring the right team.”

Leading with a Focus on Growth and Profitability

Michael’s operational background, including roles such as Vice President of Operations at LINE-X and Director of Regional Operations at Sanford Medical, gives him the ability to develop scalable processes. Michael is focused on scaling and growing both Blingle! and Heroes Lawn Care. He has a clear vision for the long term: building a sustainable business model that allows for growth, scalability, and success for franchisees across the board. “We’re aiming to grow each brand to over 100 locations, and it starts with having the right systems and team in place.”

Michael’s leadership style behind his plans for growth is characterized by his ability to think ahead, organize teams, and build structures that allow franchisees to thrive. “As a leader, you can’t just be reactive—you need to think ahead,” he explains. “It’s about understanding how to help franchisees grow their business and build sustainable processes.”
